What is your New Year's Resolution? Do you even bother?

Many years ago, each January 1st I would make my New Years Resolutions and usually abandon them as fast as I would make them.  Then as I began to study success I discovered I need to make a PLAN, not a resolution. With this I started my 5 Year Plan.

My mentor Keith Hafner has an excellent program for doing this. It is beyond the scope of this article to cover this. However here is a basic breakdown of what is needed. First get yourself a NEW fresh notebook or journal. This is going to be it's only purpose.

Find a quiet place to work for at least 60 minutes. Longer is better. Divide your life into these categories;

  • Personal Goals
  • Business Goals
  • Fitness Goals
  • Spiritual Goals
  • Financial Goals

These are enough to get you started. Now start to write under each category each and every goal or want that comes to your mind. It does not matter how large, small or impossible they may seem at the time.  This process should take at least one hour. Try not to stop writing the entire time. Also, this is very important, write these goals as if they already happened!

Now after, organize these into things that can be done in certain time frames. (2 months, one year, 5 years etc).  You can also put them into the order of importance to you.

Now each morning after you get out of bed take a few minutes and review these goals. See yourself living this dream and it will become a reality!

Also, always remember that life is a journey not a destination.
