Being the martial arts we all know the importance of being calm, cool and collected in an altercation. If you are a student of Kyusho Jitsu you know that emotions play and important role in self defense. So, now that our economy and in fact the global economy is going to tank, we must remain, calm cool and collected.

Here are 10 steps to assure that your school will survive the big bust that is in the process of developing right now.

  1. Stay clam, don't panic and start selling things, leaving buildings, quit marketing and advertising. This is not the time to run.
  2. Research and understand what is going on. I am not a fan of the news. It is distorted truth, however you need to keep and develop an understanding of what is happening and what you might need to do about it. Read some books on finance and economy so you understand what is happening and why.
  3. If you are experiencing financial problems talk to your creditors. They are in a bad position too and will help out if they know what is happening.
  4. Model and research schools who are successful. Know your limitations are were you need study to improve your situation. I am a Coaching Student of Keith Hafner. The money I spend with him is the most important money I spend all month. The best thing you can do is find a coach. Get help from someone who is doing well under the current conditions.
  5. Focus, Focus, Focus! Increase your student services and make your school the best it can be! In the real estate world they talk Location, Location, Location. In the martial arts it is Retention, Retention, Retention!
  6. Stay away from quick fixes. They will lead to short term success and long term failure.
  7. Find your market and work it. Look up old students and contact them. Work your contacts. Send them mail, email and offers.
  8. Soft market inside your school with special events. Especially ones that bring it the public. Do demos etc.
  9. Meet someone new every day!
  10. Think positive and you will see opportunity. When we are negative we attract more negative to us.
