One of the greatest challenges that faces any business is tracking
statistics. In my business I send out flyers, place ads in newspapers and
elsewhere. The purpose is to drive people to either pickup the phone and
call me, or drive them to my website for more information.
When someone calls on the phone it is easy to find out were they came from.
Going to a website is much more challenging!

Marketing your martial arts school or any business can be a great challenge. I have been in the martial arts business for about 25 years. I have researched marketing, studied with some masters, implemented new ideas, and have sometimes done very well. But there was always something missing! Until NOW..........

My Website: Visit our school's Website. I have 4 different domains all pointing at this one site. This help make search engines find me easily. Here are some resources you will need for your website. Website are often overlooked by businesses. How much are you currently paying for your phonebook ad? The Yellow Pages are dying! In fact I don't even have a listing. People go to the internet now, looking for what they are interested in. My webpage is designed for prospective students, not current one. I have a separate site for this purpose.

Auto
Responders are one of the most important tools in developing a
website. An autoresponder allows you to capture names and address of your
prospective clients and mail information and offers to them. An
autoresponder is not spam, as the prospect opt-in to the system. If you

Domain Name - you must have your own domain. Don't use a FREE server site like Free Webs. Get a great domain name, like www.windsor-karate.com and build a site that is text rich with all the benefits of your school or business. Look up registering a domain on Google or talk to your provider.

Get other sites to link to yours! This will help the search engines find you. The more links to your site the better!

Submit Press Releases to the various FREE press release site on the internet. Make them keyword rich for your school or business and don't forget to include the URL of your school, the name, address and phone number. An great place to start is Arrive Net.

Write a newsletter or eZine about your services! It can be distributed with the autoresponder you are using.
Blogs: Blogs are all the rage on the internet now. But you need one! Search Engines find this content very easily. You can use this resource to drive traffic to your website or your phone for that matter! Blogs are easy to setup and maintain. You can get a FREE blog at Blogspot.
Podcasts: What is a podcast? A podcast is an advertising and selling / promotion tool that allows you to distribute audio or video information on your product across the internet. These are no intrusive ways of getting your message out to your prospects. It is also a great retention tool for current students, clients and customers. Here are some podcast resources.
Websites: All business's
need a GREAT website. Now I do have a background in HTML and do all
my own work. Having a Website built for you is very expensive. Programs
like Front Page and Dream weaver are also difficult to work with. Forget
