Dear Friend, Marketing your business is a challenge. It doesn't matter if it is a martial arts school, a retail business, real estate, or a multilevel network marketing business like Amway or herbalife, you must market to succeed! An example in a martial arts school. The ad guy from the Penny Saver comes to see you. He tells you about his GREAT circulation! You can reach 75,000 homes for only $1000.00. But who are the homes? What do I know about the people seeing this ad? Are they my TARGET Market? Likely NOT! Problem #1, you picked the media to use first. The first thing you must pick is your market! WHO is your ideal client or customer? In the MLM or Multi-Level Marketing Business, pyramid marketing or whatever you wish to refer to it as, the up links will tell you how to get the job done! Well, the problem is that most of these up links are honestly not very successful. Just like the Penny Save ad rep. He is good at selling ads, not getting you customers. In MLM's you are told to make a list of all the people you know. Not to try to qualify them, just contact them are present your solution. Your solution to what? So you go about your business, getting frustrated and pissing people off. You get a few recruits, but often they are disappointing. What is the solution? FIND A TARGET MARKET! Everyone you know is NOT your market. There are 200,000 plus people living in Windsor, this is NOT my target market! I am looking first for my business at a radius of about 5 square miles around my facility. I do get people from a greater distance, but most are with this demographic region. Next I need to look at WHO I am looking for. What is the psycho-graphic market I am looking for. An example is a family with one to two children ages 5-18, who own a home, have jobs, and incomes $50000 per year and up. This is a TARGET MARKET. Do you know WHO your customer is? An example in an MLM, all the people you know are not potential down links, in fac very few will be. Build the target. Look at who the other MLMs are, what their situation is, then actively market you business ideas through a multitude of media looking for the right prospects. BUILD A STRONG LIST. Now if you are really serious about getting started on marketing your business. I strongly suggest taking a look at Dan Kennedy's Magnetic Marketing Toolkit.
